Rachel Williams Art
Exploring the World Through Rachel's Eyes
Meet my friend Rachel, an inspiring artist with roots spanning from Ireland to Sri Lanka. Her artistic journey started in England, took its first professional leap in London, and now she has settled with her family in Oakville, Canada.... and boy are we lucky to have her.
Rachel founded the annual event "Art in my Garden" in which the neighbourhood of Old Oakville gifts their lawns to local artists and the artisit gift the expeience of their art to the entire community. More on Rachel's latest endevour in a bit.
Rachel found herself drawn back to her creative roots and thhe tranquility of Canadian landscapes provided the perfect backdrop for her artistic rebirth. Here, she discovered the luxury of solitude—a rare gem she treasures and nurtures. Rachel’s creative process flourishes in the moments of peace, where she finds solace in listening, reading, thinking, and observing the world around her.
Rachel’s invitation to her audience is simple yet profound:
Pause. Reflect. Engage.
Each piece she creates carries a story, a moment in time, inviting viewers to lose themselves in contemplation or spark meaningful conversations.
Her approach to art is intuitive and fluid, building layers of colour and texture that breathe life into her work. Her paintings are not merely landscapes; they are a tapestry of memories and dreams, woven together with a profound sense of place and time. Has she really said that? No..... but over time, as she has pondered her motivation over tea in my kitchen..... this is how I have received her musings.
My photo doesn't really do it justice but here's one of her paintings in my kitchen.
Rachel is also a doer and she has just founded a new art show in Oakville coming up FAST. She's calling it SQUARE TREATS and it's a collection of smaller works and whereas the featured art pieces at Art in my Garden are not for sale, these works will be available.... just in time for the holidays.
Here is a link to Rachel's website..... i hope you take the time to discover Rachel’s art and let yourself be transported.
