the inspiration of the xetsy lantern

A little background of the design direction

So I was asked to submit some designs for JoJo but she and Etsy did provide a starting point. Both for the collection and for the lantern in particular.  Once I  saw the lantern ispo document I could understand why I was approached.... I'm pretty sure the mid-century modern lantern clinched it.  II was also pretty excite because I felt my product held its own against West Elm, Serena and Lily, Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn and this pretty much confirmed it.  I was also pretty tickled to see the Orla Keilly lantern there as well..... my floral lantern gives a nod to Ms. Keilly for sure.

There is still more with respect to the mood board of the collection but I'll get to that later. What I really wanted to ensure was that the design should look as great whether the lantern was lit or not.... so that it was a statement piece throughout the day as well.  The design I came up with does just that due to the shadowing of the detail. Here's a close-up of the detail on the lantern.

More on the mood later.
