Necessity?
Necessity. The mother of invention invention or so my mother taught me.
Our daughter was marrying in the garden of our home and I just couldn’t find lanterns or hurricanes or whatever they’re called that were both simple and had some presence and wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.
What to do? Like so many others planning a wedding it was off to IKEA to see what I could hack out. The photos in the first gallery show how wonderful they turned out to be. But after the wedding, what to do with all those lanterns?
Turns out, everyone loved them and wanted one, including a little shop that opened on our main street. The original design has been tweaked to be more practical in daily use and more styles have been added ‘cause I like to change things up (all the time).
I love them and I hope you do too.
