Alas the wee tea light holders are no longer available - to be fair they were just for newsletter subscribers.  BUT.

I now offer a 3x3 mini lantern.  I introduced it in a snowflake design at the One of a Kind show and the few I took were gone in half an hour.  I thought hmmmm, maybe this should take over from the tea-cozies.

 

This new product is a very have piece of glass and great value and I like that they work not just with tea lights, but with votives and smaller candles as well.

I'm adapting my designs to this new size.  Not every one is available yet.... be patient.

Dimensions

  • Small: 4" x 5" — Perfect on a bedside table, by the bath, or styled in a grouping.
  • Medium: 5" x 5" — Versatile and ideal for a dining table centerpiece or mantel.
  • Large: 6.5" x 7" — Makes a strong statement indoors or out, especially on an entrance console. I always have one lit on my kitchen island.

What’s Included
Every lantern package comes complete and ready for you to add your favorite light source. Each item includes:
  • 1 Natural Wood Cozy: Intricately cut from your choice of premium, FSC-certified hardwood veneer (Maple, White Oak, or Walnut) and fitted with a secure Velcro closure.
  • 1 Handcrafted Glass Cylinder: Made in Poland, featuring a thick, heavy base designed to protect your furniture surfaces.
What You Will Need (Not Included)
To achieve the beautiful ambiance shown in our product photography, you will need to supply your own light source. The following items are NOT included with your purchase:
  • Candles or Fuel: You will need to provide your own traditional wax pillar candle, a container/jar candle (including soy or beeswax jars), or tea lights.
  • Alternative Lighting: String fairy lights or battery-operated LED flames are not included but work beautifully inside the glass cylinder.
Recommended Candle Sizes
To ensure optimal airflow and prevent the glass from overheating, we recommend the following candle dimensions for each lantern size:
  • Small Lantern (4" x 5")
    • Best Fit: Standard tea lights, votives, or small 2" to 3" diameter pillar candles.
    • Maximum Height: 3 inches.
  • Medium Lantern (5" x 5")
    • Best Fit: 3" diameter pillar candles or standard 8oz to 10oz soy jar candles.
    • Maximum Height: 3.5 inches.
  • Large Lantern (6.5" x 7")
    • Best Fit: Wide 3" to 4" diameter pillar candles, multi-wick jar candles, or tall pillar candles.
    • Maximum Height: 5 inches.

Care

  • Wood Care: The wood comes pre-finished with a solvent-free finishing oil and does not require re-oiling. The wood cover is completely removable.
  • Adjusting the Fit: High summer humidity may cause the wood cozy to loosen slightly. If this happens, simply open the wrap, snug up the Velcro, and refasten. It's that easy!
  • Cleaning the Glass: The glass insert is dishwasher and hand-wash safe.
    Easy Wax Removal: To remove leftover wax from the bottom, place the glass insert into the freezer for a short time. The hardened wax will pop right out.
  • Switch Up Your Style: Because the glass is removable, you can purchase extra cozies separately to perfectly match your mood, décor, or the season!

Tips

Here are a few tips to get the best out of your lantern


Your lantern should be as beautiful as my pictures! I'm no professional photographer-just me and an iPhone-but here are a few tips to help you get the best possible glow:


Choosing the Perfect Candle
  • A smaller candle works best so the wick sits just below the wood design. If its above, the light won't shine through.
  • Everyday Favorites: I love affordable, plain white candles like IKEA's HEMSJÖ (for small/medium lanterns) or LÄTTNAD (for large). Standard tea lights work beautifully too!
  • Using 3-Wick Candles: If you use a Bath & Body Works 3-wick candle, choose white wax with clear glass. They put a plastic wrapper on them.... I remove that for sure. The 3-wick candles fit the medium size lantern - 5"x5".

Clean & Glow Trick


I like to add a little salt or baking soda into the base of the lantern. Not only does it catch any stray wax drips for easy cleanup, but it also reflects the light upward beautifully. (Just be sure to avoid flammable alternatives like flour or sugar!)
